Two Generational Approach
ICM’s early childhood education strategy applies a two-generational approach. Parents are empowered with confidence as they learn to actively engage in their children’s education. Children are equipped with the skills they need for success as they get ready to enter school. The stress of child rearing is reduced as mothers learn new values, health and livelihood strategies from Transform. And homes become places where education is prioritized.

Learning for all
When Engely enrolled her five-year-old daughter in ICM’s Family Academy she knew Charmy Angel would get a solid foundation in phonics and maths. What Engely didn’t expect was that the parent-coaching program would transform her relationship with her daughter.

Values
Hope is the key: progress out of poverty must start with the belief that change is possible. The Biblical Values in Transform foster attitudes and behaviour change that build relationships.
Transform strengthens social networks, builds families relationships and fosters self-esteems and confidence.
Health
One medical crisis can wipe out any progress made in poverty. Transform’s Health curriculum equips mothers to give their children better hygiene, sanitation, disease prevention and nutrition with training and resources.
Transform rescues children from malnutrition through feeding, and provides medical interventions in emergencies.
Livelihood
The biggest problem the poor face is a lack of reliable income. Transform helps mothers provide for their kids by earning more money through small business, and save for the future.
Parents and children save money in micro-savings groups, building up capital to launch bigger business ideas and access additional sources of funding.
