Empowering communities of faith so hope can thrive

Thrive – ICM’s Pastor Network

At ICM, we are passionate about helping the poor. The best way we have found to do that in the Philippines is by partnering with thousands of local churches to reach into the poorest communities. These pastors are already living and working in the communities we want to help, but they need the support and resources that ICM can provide to help those around them.

Our Pastor Network —The Heart of ICM

It all began in 1992, when five compassionate pastors began feeding hungry people in their own ultra-poor communities. Our network has grown and developed in the decades since then, and ICM has become one of the largest charities in the Philippines. Our effectiveness in reaching the ultra-poor is only possible through our partnership with pastors who are committed to ministering to the needs of those around them.

“I attend Thrive meetings regularly. I keep the notes they give us and use it for my Sunday preaching. I learn so much in these sessions and meet other pastors like myself.”

Hilario Pastor

“I questioned God: ‘Lord, why did this happen to me?’ But at the same time, there was a feeling of being given a second chance for a higher purpose.”

Ruben Pastor

“It is important that people feel that someone cares for them. Not just through the word of God, but also help for their physical needs.”

Ezekiel Pastor

“Before I became a Christian, I wanted to become a soldier and get back at everyone who ever hurt me. But God had a better plan—he wanted me to become a pastor.”

Roland Pastor

Passionate and Dedicated, but Under Resourced

ICM partner pastors are highly motivated to help their communities, but they lack the support and resources they need to serve in their mission fields. Most ICM pastors:

  • Serve in extremely poor areas
  • Are very poor themselves—most have a second job
  • Lack denominational support
  • Feel isolated, unsupported, and alone in their ministries

Transform increases attendance at partner pastors’ churches by 96%! ICM is equipping churches to better love and serve those around them who are in great need.

Who Are Our Partner Pastors

The average ICM partner pastor’s church contains just 45 people, of which 16 are children and 29 are adults.

Avarage Church Size

ICM works with pastors across a spectrum of denominations: we seek unity and common ground, agreeing to disagree on some theological issues in the pursuit of unity to serve the poor.

Thrive Churches Weekly Offering

Pastors are often as poor as those they serve. Many live off the tithes and offerings of their congregations, many on less than $10 per week for their whole family.

Weekly Church Offerings

ICM provides a whole year of training to each pastor for just $100! Help us empower local churches to serve those around them with physical, spiritual and emotional transformation.

Thrive Pastor Networks — Bringing Pastors Together

ICM built our Thrive network to bring much needed support to pastors in the Philippines. More than just a pastor training program, Thrive is where our partner pastors come to learn, worship, pray, enjoy a meal, share their burdens, and deepen their relationships.

Every month, pastors from a wide range of denominations meet in local clusters to hold a full day’s session. With the Thrive network’s support, pastors leave these sessions with new skills ready to take back to their communities, helping them thrive.

It is a demanding trek to reach Pastor Ezekiel’s home. There are vast green fields as far as the eye can see. Beyond that is his home.
