A community of passionate, generous people giving what we can to stop the cycle of poverty.
GIF is a charitable social-first investment fund whose mission is to find, fund, and scale-up cost-effective, evidence-based innovations that have the potential to measurably improve the lives of millions of people living on $5 a day or less in the developing world.
The five-year grant awarded to ICM aimed to fund several Randomized Control Trials (RCTs) and smaller scale “tinkerings” to test various adaptations to ICM’s core poverty alleviation program: Transform. As a result of this research, ICM has produced several working papers, a summary lessons learned document, and a Transform “Do It Yourself” toolkit.
The Lessons Learned document (forthcoming) is a consolidated report for the broader development community that shares aggregate findings from the RCTs, the implications of those findings on cost-effectiveness, and ICM’s outline on how to move forward given the findings.
The Transform “Do it Yourself” toolkit, is an implementation guide for others that want to replicate Transform or incorporate components of the intervention into their programming.
To access the working papers (forthcoming) from six Randomized Control Trials funded by GIF, visit the “Research” tab.
Founded in 1992, ICM focuses on transforming lives through holistic, community-based programs that address poverty’s multifaceted challenges. Operating in the Philippines, Uganda, Guatemala, and soon Burundi, ICM provides vulnerable families with tools and resources to achieve sustainable improvements in health, livelihood, and overall well-being.
