Every Step Counts

In 2026, I’m #runningforhope. In partnership with International Care Ministries, I will be undertaking a marathon in every Australian state and territory to raise funds for the millions of people around the world living in ultra poverty.

The ultra poor living on less than US$0.50 per day don’t know where their next meal will come from. Parents are forced to choose between food, medicine and education for their children. That’s why I am partnering with International Care Ministries.

Through its flagship Transform Program, ICM walks alongside communities to equip the ultra poor for lasting transformation. Transform enables communities to develop greater financial resilience through community-based saving groups and small business creation, to achieve improved health outcomes through health education and support, and to enhance school-readiness in at risk children as education is recognised as a pathway to a better future.

My ambitious goal is to raise sufficient funds to support three Transform Communities. By supporting my journey, you will help to bring hope, dignity and opportunity to families in the communities that ICM supports in the Philippines, Guatemala, Uganda, Burundi and Cambodia.

About ICM

ICM doesn’t offer short-term relief. Transform is a four-month program that equips ultra-poor families with practical skills across health, livelihood, education, and community — and the results are measurable:

  • 107% increase in income among ultra-poor participants
  • 25% increase in social safety nets
  • 10% reduction in serious illness

And the change lasts. After the program, trained community volunteers carry the work forward — so impact continues long after ICM leaves.
