HELP US FUNDRAISE
Thanks for being an ambassador of ICM to bring hope to those living in ultrapoverty! We could not do it without you and we hope this document will help guide your fundraising planning and execution process.
In fundraising, you need to be able to share what you are fundraising for and why you are passionate about the cause. Here’s an explanation in a nutshell.
What does ICM do?
At ICM, we believe no one should live in abject poverty. ICM’s work is targeted toward those living at the absolute bottom of the economic ladder, the seven million Filipinos living in “ultrapoverty”. This translates to less than US$0.5 per day. With the right support, the right training and the right resources, the bondages of poverty can be broken.
Through the experience gained since 1992, ICM has developed an effective poverty reduction model that is transforming lives. ICM's approach addresses four key assets essential in the climb out of poverty:
- Hope for a better future
- Essential education and training
- An encouraging environment of support and
- Resources to equip change.
Feeding the Hungry and Malnourished
In 2015-16 ICM distributed over 16 million meals (60 forty-foot containers) to ultrapoor families to help them provide better nutrition to their children. These children receive highly nutritious anti-malnutrition food donated by four nonprofits: Feed My Starving Children, Stop Hunger Now, Kids Against Hunger, Harvest Pack and Cross International. For every US$ 1 donated to the program, US$ 6.50 worth of food is released. This aid goes very far to help thousands of children, including 1,127 clinically malnourished children.
Medical Mercy Fund
ICM’s Medical Mercy Fund provides resources for surgeries and treatments, medication, lab fees and transportation costs. Every step of the way, ICM walks with the patient to help them make informed decisions and to provide personalized patient care.
